Summary/Abstract |
This is a feature-length film on H. H. the Dalai Lama XIV Tenzin Gyatso, documenting his life from remarkable childhood as the leader of 6 million Tibetans and today in exile, a international statesman. It includes all important events in his life which parallel the history of his Himalayan kingdom. More than just a biography, the film conveys through intimate interviews and public gatherings, the depth of his message. It offers an intimate profile of His Holiness as a monk and as a spiritual leader, as a statesman for troubled times and as a crusader for the World peace. In rare footage, the Dalai Lama is seen during his private religious practices, his daily routine and his infrequent recreation: personal moments that contrast his public role as the world's foremost Buddhist leader.(3 copies)
