Summary/Abstract |
This film takes us to the Buddhist monasteries in the Mount Everest region of Nepal where Sherpas and Tibetans preserve a unique way of life and vision of the world. The Lord of Dance is Garwang Thukjay Chenpo, a form of Chenrezig, and the Mani Rimdu is the major religious festival of Everest region. During three weeks of ancient and secret ceremonies, the monks of Thupten Choeling and Chowang become Lord of Dance, and with compassion and power of gods, undertake heroic tasks.
