| Summary / Abstaract (Note) | A program on the inauguration function on reorganization of the Tibetan Women Association. Originally conceived in 1952, the Lhasa Patriotic Women's Association was officially inaugurated with H.H the Dalai Lama's permission on March 8, 1953 and attended by more than 500 women and schoolgirls. Once in exile the association was scattered due to the problems of refugee life. 1985 saw the first meeting of the this recently revived Association set up to work for the betterment of Tibetan Society. Their efforts were encouraged by H.H. the Dalai Lama and the program covers the whole of his opening address. |
