Summary / Abstaract (Note)This document traces programs held in remembering Tibet. On 10th March 1959, thousands of Tibetans in Lhasa rose up against the Chinese garrisons that surrounded them. Thousands of Tibetan people lost their lives in this national struggle. H. H. the Dalai Lama could not be safe under terror of Chinese regime and fled to India. To commemorate this day, Ven. Dobom Rinpoche, Director of Tibet House, New Delhi, spoke to the Tibetan community in Britain and western friends about destruction of Tibetan culture in the name of cultural renovation. Mr. Phuntsog Wangyal, H.H the Dalai Lama's representative in London, and a member of the second official delegation to Tibet in 1980, gave an illustrated talk on conditions inside present Tibet.
